Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better. – Albert Einstein

Trekking in Garhwal has a charm, particularly in the place which boasts its natural beauty, cloaked green hills, and lush green forests. The peace and the scenic beauty with seldom sunshine nourish your soul. This one-day trek was an excellent one because it was facile and ideal for nature lovers and rookies. The turquoise gradation of the skyline was so much soothing, rejuvenating and detoxifying for everyone out there. This was the first trek of the new session, many of us were ecstatic and eagerly waiting for this trip. We all gathered at 3.30 am at the multi-activity centre and was very excited to start our journey. At around 4.00 in the morning, our group consisting of 86 members departed for Dhanaulti in 2 full buses. After two long sleepy hours of our bumpy ride, we reached Dehradun, from where we started enjoying the scenic beauty of nature. There was no stop in between our route, so we reached Dhanaulti by 8 am. After having breakfast, we started heading towards the ECO-PARK. There are two eco-parks in Dhanaulti, which is about 200m apart. We began with Eco-Park I that houses a protected patch of small forest containing Deodar trees.

Each person, along with their friends and families were busy capturing the beautiful moments, love and laugh along with the mesmerizing beauty of nature. The panoramic view from the park was breathtakingly beautiful. After that, we visited Eco-Park II, where some of our adventure sports enthusiasts tried walking over the flying fox and bridges. There were tiny eco-huts in the park where some of us just sat by and relished the true colors of the landscape. We also found some of the saplings that visitors have planted in the memory of their beloveds. Those gestures were quite overwhelming for all of us that make us feel as love was in the air. After absorbing the freshness of nature, our group had lunch near the park itself to recharge ourselves for the next adventure. At around 3 pm, we headed towards Chamba road, where at about 8 km lies the Surkanda Devi Temple.

Along with Devi-maa darshan, it also offers trekking opportunities. It is a short but strenuous 3 km steep uphill climbing trek from Kaddukhal, the place our buses were parked. The complete trail is besieged by dense forest and relents a scenic view of the surrounding region including the Himalayas to the north, and certain cities to the south. Almost every part of the trek was foggy. We were unleashing the clouds feeling pearl-like droplets on our face, but sometimes the screened sun rays, however, finds a way of leaving us sun-kissed. After reaching at the top, in front of Devi Mandir, the spiritual atmosphere and the enchanting temple bells were exquisitely alluring. After cuddling up in pristine natural beauty and surplus adventure, we took our mandatory group picture. Finally, by 6 pm, we all boarded to our buses and departed to Roorkee, after which we had a good dinner. Although this trek was pretty easy for trekkers, but it was a blend of fun and adventure, with an awe-inspiring memory for a lifetime.
